As I've never seen a C8008 or C8008-1 with any letter I wonder if this can be any remark for "Sample"

It would be good if S meant sample, but I think with so many letters used on Intel chips I think it is not a good idea to speculate.
Out of interest, what are the markings on the bottom of this chip? |
