Hey,

I recently ordered an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 to replace my old E2160. My motherboard is Abit IB9 Socket 775. When I first installed the E2160 I did experience some monitor issues however I resolved them by using a different monitor. However when I install the E6850 my monitor does not start at all; just says "no digital input" or what not. I have a feeling it's due to my BIOS and that I have to setup it so that my CPU boots right? But I'm unsure about this as I am new to building my own PC. There are no loose wires or broken ones as I put my E2160 back into my PC and it worked. I just believe that it's something to do with my BIOS. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Like how to configure my BIOS?

Thanks in advanced.

Well i would start it up with the old moniter and go into the bios and look for anything related to bootup, somtimes they have setting like booting up the PCI or PCIE, or AGP and PCi slot first, you of course want to have the correct setting in there, depending on what type of video card you have, you may also want to go the manufacturers website of the motherboard and see if there are any bios updates you could do to help. Also look around in the FAQ on the site or thr sites forum and see if anyone else has had that same problem.

You suggested to start it up with the old monitor first, by that do you mean with the old CPU or the new one? As no monitors work with my new CPU. When I change my BIOS to boot up PCIE slot first, I change back to the new CPU and see if it works? Sounds reasonable. I will check other topics on the forum, thanks for the reply.
