| I was going to replace the cpu in my computer, which the system info says is an Athlon XP 1200 mHz, and the bios has auto set at 100 FSB on an MSI K7N2 Delta-L board capable of 400 FSB. That was until I removed the existing cpu (SDA3000DUT4D) to find that it was a Sempron 3000+ with clock speed of 333. The bios is suppose to automatically detect an set the cpu info, at least that's what I understood. Why would it recognize the Sempron 3000+ as an Athlon XP running at 1200mHz? And how do I reset the bios with the correct info? The cpu name and mHz will not highlight to allow a change it in the bios. |

Nevermind the post above. I set the corrct FSB speed (166) in the bios, manually set the dram clock to allow it to be different (133), and when I re-booted, it correctly detected the Sempron 3000 runnig at 2008 MHz at 333.
Dram at 266. All is OK now.
