| hi, i recently got an athlon xp 2600+ (AXDA2600DKV3C) for my gigabyte GA-7ZX-1 rev1.0 hoping for it to work at 1600mhz (16x100fsb) but it showed at 1100mhz, so i said ok no problem there might be somthing wrong... i increased the fsb from 100 step by step to 117 which was unsual since i couldnt get it past 110 last time.. i started windows with 1287mhz but it crashed so i lowered back to 110.. now in the OS on properties of my computer.. it shows AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1.21GHZ, on CPUZ it shows AMD Duron 1210mhz(110x11) but with L2 cache at 64kb.. anyone know how to fix this so i can get 16x multiplyer and 256kb cache..?? |

Not sure if this will help but I have just had a similar probelm with an ABIT motherboard.
Have a look a postings:
1. System says Athlon 3000+ is only 1.3GHz
2. ABIT KD7A motherboard not recognising Athlon XP 3000 process
