I'd not come across that one before. Nice find!
Do you have a motherboard it can be tested on? I'd be interested to know CPUID and the DIRs (Cyrix Device ID Registers) say... _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

The CPUID code at my site will run on a command prompt and give you the values in the DIRs. In it's current (almost dormant - I recently started working on the code again) state, it will tell you it has used Cyrix DIRs to detect what processor it is, and the CPUID value will constitute DIR0:DIR1, each being two Hex characters.
The code can be found at http://www.ukcpu.net/Programming/OS/index.asp, in the file CPUID.ZIP. Source code is included, if you are interested in that. Te file CPUID.COM needs to be run full screen, at a DOS prompt (eg a command prompt run full screen).
I aim to improve both the code and the interface at some point, but for now am working more on updating the list of processor families that are supported
I just checked, and the app doesn't close itself after running, so you can double click on it from a windows folder, then make the window full screen to be able to read the text. You can then close the window after to close the app. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

That's one of the things I forgot hadn't been done when I let it go dormant, so will be getting fixed (I'll have it wait for a keypress before shutting down, so it can still be double-clicked in a DOS box
I hope to have an update online before the summer (it's so long since I did some proper programming, I'm not going to set my expectations too high immediately ), but may manage to get some intermediary updates online before then.. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

3122 (that's DIR0 = 31, DIR1 = 22) makes it revision 4.2, which is the same as all 6x86L I have seen info on (and fortunately ties in with the revision shown in the part number). Thanks for testing it, I'd not seen enough of them to have confidence about putting the part number on my web site
For testing with a Windows interface, I think most people use cpu-z (which looks to me like a very good application - the only reason I don't use it is because I don't need the extended info.
I will be improving the interface on my code, part of which will involve making it look more attractive (as thatmatters to some users more than how an app looks), as well as adding the ability to close the app down properly (a feature that was only missed out because my original intention was to integrate it into the start-up code of the OS I started work on...) _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
