k, origanally have an Athlon 1300mhz but since im broke and have a shitty motherboard, i have 2 options... a fake T-bred at 1050mhz (everything is normal expcept the multiplier, its at 10.5 instead of 16) or a polimino at 1300mhz,
the t-bred is an Athlon XP 2600+ with 266mhz fsb
the polimino is an Athlon XP 2100+ with 266mhz fsb
would the chip itself make any difference becouse i seriously need SSE now days for the stuff im doing and my Athlon 1300mhz just wont do anymore, i can overclock both to 110fsb, mabye higher but last time it crashed when i went higher
which one would you guys recommend?? |

t-bred needs a lot less power and does not get as hot as the palominos, not to mention the tbred overclocks better. BTW - all palominos and tbreds run on FSB 133, so 133x10.5=1400mhz=Athlon 1600+ so it may not be a fake or runs at fsb166?
i would go fot the tbred _________________ Power without the price. |

| k but what if i actually do get a real t-bred, say a 2600+, would it be able to work on a Gigabyte GA-7ZX-1 rev. 1.0 motherboard @ 1600mhz (16x100) becouse that would be bomb for me the broke man lol |

woops, note that the t-bred is only at 1050mhz and i can only get it to 1155mhz possibly to 1207mhz but the polimino is at 1300mhz and i can get that to 1430mhz but if i get lucky i might be able to get it to 1500mhz |

why don'y you start it up at fsb 133, the way it should be? your system crashes when overclocking probably because the PCI, AGP and RAM speeds go too high as they go up on-par with FSB. At FSB 133 the pci ang agp multiplier should change and set it at the default 33 and 66 mhz. ever tried setting 133/133 (fsb/ram)? _________________ Power without the price. |

| yeah i have, my motherboard is a ga-7zx-1 *rev. 1.0*, if it were a ga-7zx rev 5.1 then i wouldnt be here but my motherboard doesnt operate at 133mhz fsb, mabye i should try to put the ram at 100mhz so that way it will be 133mhz instead of 166mhz, yes its wierd but lets say i my ram set to 133 and my fsbset to 110, then my ram shows as 143mhz, could it be due to this, i will try it in sometime later on, but im pretty sure my motherboard may work for a short while on 133 but it crashes even at 115 fsb, so if im lucky mabye, plus i cant keep my t-bred at 105fsb either, it crashes for some apparent reason, so i think its either a t-bred B at 1050mhz or a polimino at 1300mhz, i think ill try and find a t-bred 2600+ somehow on ebay, but i dont like that idea because the 2600 i just bought was a fake since it says 2600+ but it operates at 1600mhz, even if it did operate with 166fsb, it would only be 1743mhz, not enough to be a 2600+ at 166fsb.. |
