Ok, it`s time I dropped in a link or more about tubes.
First though I thought I`d mention a big technicality
on the CPU-World Forums that seems to be making
people turn colors. There`s the big subject area of
what gets posted where, why, such as how buys, sells,
and trades, are posted in separate areas from each
other and sensibly should be. Separation of purpose
has separation of posting areas, and this does seem
to prevent confusion. a much closer to
misunderstandings area though, can be brought up
with the sentence found near the top. The rule,
"No website advertisements, no links to offsite
websites". First of all, this should be two sentences
since they are not quite alike. -No website advertisements-,
is simple enough, since it`s obvious that it`s terribly
easy whether by accident or not, to make the Forums
here into a big, mostly swollen, mostly advertising,
area. We don`t need or want that accident or non-
accident. "-No links to offsite websites-" Well, the trouble
is, that written or "said" links to offsite websites and
blurrily to semi- websites would often be quite appropriate,
belonging, and regularly informative, while emphasized
postings as contrasted to allowed mentions of offsite
websites becomes part of the above advertising problem.
The trouble is, that if we look at the bottom of the page we`re
using right now, it says, (Powered by) phpBB (Group). This
web- bulletin board, like most others, and like most e- mail
providers, does really stupid things like changing print of the
websites and e- mails to the color blue, even though we don`t
necessarily want that, and the same for internet
communications transferal sites in- between, so they`re
emphatically to blame for creating advertising we don`t
want. It would be sensible if people reading avoid "knee-
jerk stupidity" reading into the purposes of posts and all
their nuances. Better to avoid the "Nobody is innocent of
anything, everyone is guilty of everything and should be
punished endlessly" philosophy that world political leaders
are trying to infect nearly every country for their own
evil greedy purposes. Better our Forum or Forums should
not be a microcosm of the problem. (Hurray, end of long
diatribe).
Links to tubes and a bit about them:
1. "BAMA" BAMA is a circuit diagrams website that has
nothing to do with a shortenning or nicknaming of the
name of the state, Alabama. Three- quarters of it`s circuit
diagrams are about Amateur Radio Transmitters and
Receivers. This still leaves huge numbers of available
circuit diagrams for users who may not be "Hams", like
people who have to look up audio amplifier circuit diagrams
and people who similarly have to look up circuit
diagrams for oscilloscopes and other test equipment. This
site uses excessive "data compression" like, "zipping" or
similar, but is quite well- meaning of purpose.
2. AMFONE.NET . This site comes from a migration of
amplitude modulation using Amateur Radioists, to
discussions and information left on the website. Shortwave
Listeners who listen to them and the Hams themselves
intend for this to be very educational (and entertaining)
so it`s no wonder that it is. Please note that the prices of
and ways of uses of tubes by the Amateur Radioists and
SWLs and Broadcasters often found there is often way-
different from the audio listenners uses one generally
hears about. I`d normally recommend you for too many
reasons to type today to read not join this net when
encountering it new.

"No links to offsite websites" was changed to more appropriate "No links to external websites that are not related to discussion topic.".
