Hi
Could someone tell me why my athlon xp 2100+(AXDA2100DUT3C) is multiplier locked when the date code reads 0209 ( thought they were only locked after 0333?). I bought the comp from carrera computers, would this company have locked ( cut the L1 bridges )? Any help appriciated......mcd_uk |

i have never heard that a company diffrent than AMD locked their processors.
2100+ might be a Palomino model which were almost always factory locked. OR - were palominos named with only two letters before 2100? eg. AX2100xxx
I think not every processor was unlocked so it's not possible to judge so by a given datecode, only after a certain code all processors were locked or superlocked (like one of my 2400s). I have no idea what was the datecode on my 1700+JUIHB and it was unlocked by factory default, simply before buying it I was mailed with the confirmation of being unlocked. _________________ Power without the price. |

Thanks for the reply, my 2100+ is a Thoroughbred b, just thought it was funny how it is locked when its over a year older than 0333 when all processors were factory locked. Also what does superlocked mean? and do you know if they did an unlocked 2600+ 266 fsb AXDA2600DKV3C Thoroughbred?
Thanks again.......mcd_uk |

hmm, to tell the truth ive never payed much attention to 2600s as they were not very interesting to me.
superlocked means that it could not be unlocked just by painting with silver the factory-cuts.
But I'll tell you this - there were 2600s with 256kb L2, running fsb133 and they could be modded to 512 L2 (Barton) by paining the cuts on the processor. But everest would tell you that its a Thorton core, not thoroughbred _________________ Power without the price. |
