upgrade a t5600 to t7300?

i have a i945 chipset with a t5600 installed and a t7300 chip engineering sample, did some research and they say it wont fit. what do u think? should i attempt and see if it will work?

No. T5600 => Socket M, T7300 => Socket P
Electrically and mechanically different.
