Hi again.
I've managed to get my CPU OC'd and reasonably stable at 2200mhz.
It is a Athlon 2500+. My new fsb is 200, with a core voltage of 1.725.
I also have speedfan running as a window of system ops. I can monitor CPU usage, temps, etc.
As sort of a seat of the pants test, I opened WinAmp, turned on a song, and hit the visualization.
From the SpeedFan window, I can see CPU usage at about 90%.
The graphics card is a Radeon x1300, feeding twin NEC LCD 1700v.
When I turn on the visualization, it runs ok for about a minute or so, and then turns to crap. I'm thinking the graphics card is tweaking out on me.
Before OC, there were no issues. It would run the visualizations all day long, with high CPU usage.
So the question is, where to look for the cause? CPU or graphics card? With this tweaking, is there an adjustment I need to make to the graphics card?

run sp2004 to test cpu at maximum "10" priority of CPU usage. If that will run stable that will be VGA if not CPU.

Thanks for the download.

I ran the test for 30 seconds, 0 errors, 0 warnings.

What is a reasonable test time?

I would suggest running it for as long as you can, but at least twice as long as it takes for WinAmp visualisation to fail. The longer you can run it, the more certasin you can be of how good your CPU is (or isn't).

Alot of times when you increase the FSb on a motherboard it will also start to o/c the pcie or agp frequencies as well without you knowing it, if in youre bios you have a selection to lock or unlock youre pcie or agp slot frequencies you want to lock it in at 33/66 megahertz for agp and 100 megahertz for pcie, if you dont have any chioces in the matter in youre bios you may just have to turn down youre o/c some.
