I posted pictures of fake processors before (http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=245). This time I found fake a few Pentium 90 processors:
Cleaning the processor with alcohol didn't work, so I tried to use acetone. That worked great - as usually, maybe even too greater than usually:
Acetone not only removed traces of thermal grease, but also removed "Intel Pentium" logo. More scrubbing followed, and finally:
It wasn't difficult to guess what is the speed of original processor. Here is a picture of markings in greater details:
Removing paint with acetone from the back of the processor wasn't difficult too:

If I'm correct I've came across a goldtop P90(P75 fake) and a PPro 200(P180 fake) a few weeks ago.......
There is also a remarked IBM blue lightning dx2-66 as well (remarked to cyrix dx2-66) |
