Hi i'm new on your forum and all the stuff so please bear with me. I would much appreciate it if you help me in this.

I'm considering getting a script to protect my web pages and have narrowed it down to a few password protection systems. But maybe some one already uses such scripts and can share his/her thoughts, or you know a better way to protect web pages without using these scripts.... Maybe I can create some code and paste it on my web page. I need to protect only a couple of pages, and I'm not sure if I need to buy something or not. I would greatly apprieciate your help! Thanks.

First, im curious on how you decided to post this question about web development on a cpu forum where we 99% of the posts talk about cpus and cpucollecting? Why not a webhosting forum?

Back to your question. You have to tell how you host your pages. Is it plain html that you upload or is it php based? What type of webserver are running it on? (Apache, IIS?)

There always seems to be a post or two like this on most of the forums I visit and I always get a good laugh out of them.

It's trolling.

In the old days, mid 90's it used to be fun. Now it's just stupid.

No, it's called spamming. One poster (a bot) posts innocent question, like where can I buy a CPU?, and then another bot or real person responds to it - you can buy it from such and such company, and they have great selection and very low prices. Well, we may never see the response because guests are not allowed to posts links (again, thanks to spammers). Search for "considering getting a script to protect my web pages" (in double quotes) on Google in a few days - i think you'll see plenty of posts of this type in different forums.
