Fair warning to those buying AXDA2800DKV4E for upgrade, or heads up for collectors of fake processors - some, if not all Athlon XP 2800+/400 MHz FSB on eBay are fakes. Fake chips are easy to identify from markings - they all use non-standard font and possibly all of them have AQXCA0308RPMW stepping/datecode:
Serial numbers of the processors on the picture are very close to each other, but they have different package color, and even different package type (27488 and 27493).

Yes, and here is mine. It doesn't even POST. At least it was cheap.
AXDA2800DKV4E isn't even in the list of chips on this site. Does it really exist? |

2800+ at stock FSB400? only 3200+ Bartons, and of those not all, were working at FSB400, right? my guess its a good TbredB or something _________________ Power without the price. |

According to the list here, there are at least five chips that can run a 400 FSB at stock:
AXDA2900DKV4E
AXDA3000DKV4E
AXDA3100DKV4E
AXDA3200DKV4E
SDA3300DKV4E
In my observation, the 3000+ and 3200+ are most common; the odd-numbered chips I've never seen.
The fake 2800+ can't be Tbred because the core size is equivalent to a Barton. They might be overclocked 2500+. |
