I have a pentium4 3.4ghertz cpu with HT and i recently downloaded a TM1 Throttling detector for pentium chips because i was curious how hot my cpu was running. Whenever I run a videogame or a high priority program, the TM1 Throttling will go on after about 10 minutes. It reaches to about 40%.
So i decided to take apart my computer and clean off the heat-sink and re-apply the thermal compound (a pea sized amount) and it didnt help anything. What should i do? |

How hot is your CPU getting, and what is the specific nomenclature for it?? As in Model # or Part #, etc.
If you can make the adjustment in BIOS, see how the CPU fan speed is being controlled. If possible, disable any speed control and let the fan run wide open to see if that lowers the operating temperature (if in fact it's getting too high). As you know, throttling shouldn't be engaging if the temps are "normal".
Also, if there isn't sufficient air movement into and out of the case, the video card and CPU temps will naturally run high because of their hot environment. _________________ "Have you scanned the RAM timings for Operator's Headspace??
