I would be interested,too.
I just found 2 of the exact same (A1-2425-5) Harris brown-ceramic chips yesterday on a AT&T mainframe board I got from a scrap yard. Smile

The Triangle (delta) usually means military specs. and the number after it should be the date code.

If you can show a pic of the whole board, it might help someone identify it...

Do you know what system the board came from?

Hi Debs....
It will take more than one pic.
I have de-soldered most of the board, but the front display panel and many chips are still intact.
Here are some pics I took last night after my scrapyard visit #3.

This is the front panel....

This board was joined to the other board with the end panel.

This is the board I got the Harris chip from and I've done a thorough job of plucking the chips from it already....I hope the end panel pics help ID the AT&T system.

....more pics of the panel and inside, before I started to de-solder. The gold legged chips visible from the side got my heart racing when I picked this board out of the Scrapyard bin!!!

This is a small sample of the chips I got from the AT&T boards so far. Wink The last pic shows the "famous" Harris brown chips that started this whole discussion. (The black plastic IDT & Xilinx chips were not taken from these boards.)

BTW, Does anyone collect older brown-ceramic support dips like these? I am saving many of the major brands of these that I come across.
These and older CPU's aren't made anymore, so if you want some of these, start rescuing them now. 1970's versions have gold centers inside.

I don't know what to say. I guess everyone knows now that I think complete boards (especially mainframe and/or server boards) should be left complete and potentially usable....

You might find identifying unknown chips easier if you were to take a high resolution pic of the complete board, or at least a pic of any resolution and higher resolution pics of significant parts of it) before dismantling it....
