Any ideas on how to remove the bottom plastic carrier? I have some LSi and i860XP chips with this on the bottom and havent had good luck removing it.

I've tried a heatgun but it doesnt seem to want to come off. Any tips or tricks?

Or you can use lever (knife) and put it between cpu and reduction.

If it's that firm in place, I would leave it there to help protect the pins if you are planning to sell them. I guess I saw this too late though, as you posted this a few hours ago...

But these LSI chips are seriously hard to get out so I thought they might have been soldered in. A good tug and they came out.
