The rules
The first and foremost. The site was designed for humans, and our content is available primarily for personal use. Hence, automated software and bots are disallowed with the exception of a few trusted search engine bots. Commercial use of our content is allowed only as outlined in terms and conditions. Finally, we do not allow re-posting of our content online, even if you do not profit from it.
As you can see, our rules are quite simple. Nevertheless, we constantly detect attempts to copy our content using downloaders, scrapers, offline browsers and similar software. Some people even do it by hand. To prevent manual and automatic scraping of our content we imposed a limit on viewing CPU, S-Spec and CPUID specifications pages. There is also a much higher limit on viewing other site pages. Current limit for visitors is 125 specifications pages per 24-hour interval. Forum users can view twice as many pages. CPU collectors and frequent site contributors have 4 times higher limits. There are also limits on other site's pages, but they are generally 3x times higher.
How pageview limit works:
When you get close to the limit, and there are fewer than 15 page views left, you will see a warning message at the top of the page. Once activated, this warning message will stay at the top for the next 24 hours. You are advised not to access specifications pages or other site's pages. If you ignore the warning, you access will be blocked for the next 2 days.
What to do if you are blocked?
Please wait until your access is restored. It will be done automatically in 48 - 52 hours.
We do not recommend bypassing pageview limit. This is considered site abuse, and we have much harsher penalties for abusers.
