|

I was sorting through some ICs I picked up awhile back and came across these two. I can't really tell what the model # is , I'm guessing it's MK2004P and MK2003P.
Datecodes: 73/14, 73/18
Is this old memory?
Any idea why they drilled holes in the package?

A lot of older packages have those holes. Don't know why... maybe for automatic handling equipment?
Mostek made a lot of custom chips like that, so you might not ever get to find out what they are |

my first guess, a calculator chip, maybe from an old hp?
search hpmuseum.org and go to the technologies and packages pages, there are many highres-pictures. _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

Thanks wepwawet, I had a look at the HP calc site but didn't find anything. It seems all the calculator chips start with MK5xxx , nothing with MK2xxx unfortunately. I'll just stick them in the "unknown" box with the rest of the odd-balls |
