Hi friends,
I recently moved to Calgary from Montreal and presently looking for a job in a corporate company in the field of civil engineering. Since 80% of the job openings are not being posted anywhere and are only accessible to people with large networks, I decided to take my chances over here as well, thinking that I should be surrounded by at least several engineers who may have civil engineer friends working in western Canada.
Little bit info about myself: I am a junior civil engineer who has a masters degree in structural engineering. My application to be an engineer in training (EIT) in Calgary is being reviewed by the order of engineers, APEGGA. I don't mind starting my career as a field engineer and do not mind traveling. I may work in Calgary, Edmonton and Fort Mcmurray.
If you have any contacts, please let me know..I can assure you that you will not regret it!!
Thanks

In addition the the Tar-Sand project, the huge mining company, BHP Billiton, has several Diamond mines open/opening in N. Alberta and the NW Territories.
I think there is a major Gas pipeline project planned to go through Alberta from Alaska to the lower 48 also.
just some ideas.....
Then there's the online job sites like Monster.com etc.
Good luck, Alp. _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |
