Very nice.
In some sense it is the meaning of sample before making formal product _________________ **********************

Hehe one of those glorious auctions where the seller doesn't know what they have!
Any link to IBM having made the protos in their fab? Seems really like their style! |

You were bidding on one of the seller's other auctions, right? The seller had it set so that you could only place one bid on ANY of his auctions.
I discussed it on eBay's community forum:
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Technical-Issues/Unable-To-Bid/520185951
The seller finally answered my message after his auctions ended, and just said that he was new to auctions, and he did not realize he had set the restriction. So the winners of his auctions got some good deals. |

I doubt the seller is newbie. According to his feedback he sold more than 130 items, and sold the first item in 2002. Anyway, I'm glad that these chips ended up in the hands of a collector, and were not scrapped for gold.

Wow, that's a cool looking chip!
I know the collectors here will beat me with clubs for asking... but does it still work? How's it overclock?
Though something that rare, I wouldn't try too hard. Still sweet though! I'd love to see it run through the various 486 "erratum detection programs" just to see what it's "die heritage" is! |
