I acquired a 1.3 GHz socket 423 Pentium 4 chip. SL5FW
Its a very early P4 from 2000. Does it have collectible value, or is it just a slow P4? |

| That's what I figured. Still I bet there's a few people out there who would derive some type of satisfaction from owning a 'slowest P4'. |

the fastest P4 in 423 is 2.0G which is relatively rare and collectable.
but I doubt there will be many comes up when they are given up in consumer market. _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

I have found the 1.9s the hardest to find & get at a reasonable price.

Slowest production P4 yes, but there are also the 0.8 & 1.2GHz ES P4s
and yes to some collectors.. it is collectible.
I collect sSpecs & plants for socket 423s and at present i have 26 (out of 31) production sSpecs and 10 of them i have from both production plants _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Ya, S423 is a nice collectable series. I like very much, but dont collect them any more. Sadly.
I do have some tasty S423 ES/QS that came my way over the years. No they are not for sale, unless you have a hot sister and the keys to a SLK. |

| The old 1.3 GHz CPU would be somewhat more collectible that it`s more centered speed later types but you`re talking about an almost unnoticable increase in worth. The 423- socket CPUs were picked to run 5 watts less heat dissipation than their 478- socket CPU kin, similar to how mobile CPUs are also lower wattage. The 1.3`s are slightly rare at present. If you want to trade your 1.3 for a regular 423 1.4, (or a modestly different trade), please contact me. Utility electricity here is worth it`s weight in gold. Fred |

Anyone interested in trading me a 1.2-1.4GHz tualatin Celeron with a slot-ket?
By the way- posts 1, 4, and 7 are mine. |
