I took some pictures with a maginfying glass and a digital camera that has a macro function from 1 cm.
This is a AMD 2901 die:
btw, skold, besides the image quality the background you selected is very good. |

i bet theyre looking for someone to put a positive spin on intel's adoption of model numbers..
one of the other sites i go to (non cpu related) has a guy on it who got flamed quite a bit for saying that he wouldnt buy amd processors because they try to 'baffle you with bullshit' and 'mislead you' with their model numbers
this was only week or two before intel announced the model numbers. we all had a great laugh at his expense |

| I don't think amd/intel would just randomly hire people to take photos; I'll guess they'd have to graduate from a reputable school- or better yet, someone on the inside thats knows a photographer. Do you have any idea as to how many photographers exist? |

Not a CPU, but I was always particularly fond of this photo I took:
It usually comes as a surprise to people that ICs were first offered in *round* transistor packages... Those are made by Fairchild, where Intel founders Bob Noyce and Gordon Moore were working at the time.
