I hate cars with 5+ control units aboard... yea computers
are reliable but who is programming them? |
Thats ALL cars, a modern 2009+ car has over 100 computers in it, a Prius has close to 200 and over 2 million lines of code. |
Is that a joke?
That's a lot of code. We are in a new era... |
sadly not a joke
It is why the NHTSA (the US Govt agency in charge of car safety) is being asked why they do not employ any electrical, computer, or software engineers _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Actually, there is already 1 million lines of code approximately only for a modern multimedia navigation system, so that's not surprising... _________________ Register on x86-guide.net to manage and share your collection on-line !

Quoting both CpuShack and Mixeur,
ignorance is bliss sometimes, not only for blue/red pill...
1.000.000 lines is insane
Ok, as long as it doens't lead to a cliff anymore, I'll keep using my navigator.

My current car (a good 20 year old B M W) has exactly two!
One main/engine controller and one for the ABS.
And I am happy with that, very reliable car and free of
software-bugs I think! _________________ Ordem e Progresso |
