Hi and welcome!
If you are collecting a bit because
of the "eye-candy" factor you should also
have a look for DEC Alphas and HP PA-RISCs,
might be a nice addition!

Trying to spoil his life? LOL
Those are really beautiful pieces... oh, they are...

The four module LSI chip is a 4GE7MCM "REVA", L1a7665. I think it's a CPU, but not positive. CPU or not, it's one impressive chip and I think the package is awesome.
Very Happy

The CCFL and power supply from an old LCD monitor make an EXCELLENT lighting unit for displays. Little or no heat, compact size etc..

Collecting chips can be really a drug,
you are wise if you dont start to go deep into it,
at least you save some money.
On the other side collecting chips is a nice thrilling
hobby and for sure more challenging than watching
boring TV or playing lowbrow computer games in leisure!

Excellent recycle idea!
Do you by chance have a picture to post of a working CCFL & power supply?
I've been tossing old laptop screens and power supplies into my recycle box for the scrappers. Surprised
