Today I visited a garage belonging to one guy who was a coolest computer seller 15-20 years ago here at local flea market.
I've bought a lot of probably a little bit overpriced 286, 287, 386, 486s, PPros, K5/K6s... over 100 chips totally.

But it looks that I've got two really uncommon chips besides of them Smile

Please note they have a diff print. So they are not for sale/trade. Thanks.

I had already bought Cyrix 287 before here at forum sale

There were some doubt is it fake or not.

(EDITED: it's definately not a fake! Tested. Working.)

But as for these two I've bought today...
Is it posible that someone faked two diff print 287s to sell 15 years later for the same price as usual Intel C8087 ? (seems that that box with 287s (Intel, IIT, AMDand Cyrix!) was never opened last 15 years)
I believe - no way! Smile
What would you say?

Maybe not with the intention of selling 15 years later but 15-20 years ago remarked chips were much more common.

Nice chips Smile

Nice unusual chip!
The Cyrix 287XL+ is the first and only Co-processor I ever bought new.

I got mine in the 1990's to speed up my "PC-Limited" (now DELL) 286 machine and I think I paid about $70 for it. I saved it after I upgraded to a 486 and it was one of the earliest chips I kept before I knew I was a "chip collector". I'm glad I saved it.Very Happy
What is one of these worth now? over $70?? Surprised

Here are some details:

MS-DOS 6.22
Chekit 3.0
Benchmarks -> Main System -> Math Speed

units - Times IBM PC-TX

CPU Siemens 80286-16 & 8MHz

AMD P80C287-10 49.89
Intel C80287XT 77.49
Cyrix 287XL+ 78.10
Cyrix CX-82S87 78.10

CPU Siemens 80286-16 & 16MHz

AMD P80C287-10 62.09
Intel C80287XT 103.41
Cyrix 287XL+ 118.88
Cyrix CX-82S87 118.88

Other MoBo , CPU Harris CS80C286-20 @ 20MHz

AMD P80C287-10 failed
Intel C80287XT failed
Cyrix 287XL+ 96.78
Cyrix CX-82S87 failed

From these FPUs only Cyrix 287XL+ passed the FPU test @20MHz
The result is 96.78 - probably the second MoBo is slower even at Harris-20 .
Looking for MoBo able to change CPU and the quartz crystal unit Smile

Cyrix even a little bit faster at the same frequency than Intel !
AMD - a kilometre behind Smile

Diff print Cyrix 287XL+ results are absolutely the same.

I just found a Cyrix 287XL+ also! i found it in an old pile of electronics at my univeristy. It is the AD3246A version. Unfortunately most of the the pins are a little bent.

I am not able to test it at this moment (do not own a working 286 board). Perhaps it will come up for sale. I will post a picture soon.

edit:
----
I read that a lot of these chips seem to be fakes. I think this one is real because I found it at my university and I have no reason to think this one is fake. By the way it is a ceramic DIP package.

Added some photo's, pins are bent, but I think they can be straightened again.

Here's mine too Smile - also AD3246A (most common?). By the way, what frequency is this rated for?
