I need some advice..
Before I buy a digital microscope, will 200x be enough magnification to make nice pics like yours?
Thanks. Smile

200x is not the most important (like Camera's MegaPixels). The promlem of XXXx USB microscopes are: small sensor, plastic lens = high noise, small dynamic range.

My cores images are about x40.
Made by simple hand-held camera (even not SLR) Canon A630 (4x) + reversed $3 old objective lens.

Compare my core images to made by 200x USB micro (c) JAC

And the last. These 200x microscopes are about 10x really x20 digital (software, unreal) zoom. imho it's a cheat.

also is not the same to photo a chip of low intergration level like 70's 80's chips (like this )
or like a pentium and higher class chips....witch intergration are very very high.... so in this case the 40X will not eficient to see something clear....

but for old stuff like this to 40-80x are ok !

Can I see a picture of your $3 old objective lens, please?

You've already seen it Smile

ANY normal (non-wide, non-tele) 35...70mm focal length lens will work.
In short - go to flea market and buy just the cheapest camera lens. 99% it will work here Smile
