Processor - AMD-K7900MNR53B A
Motherboard - GA-71xe
Running - Windows 98se
RAM - Currently 64MB x 2 (PC100 - 168pin SDRAM)
Hi Again
I have purchased 3 x 256MB sticks of PC133 memory to replace my 2 x 64MB sticks of PC100 memory, but my PC will not boot up with this new memory. What am I doing wrong ? Do I need to change something within the BIOS or somehow tell my PC that it has new memory at a different speed? if so how do I change these settings/parameters ? I thought it would be easy, just take out the old memory and just slot in the new one. I assumed the PC would just recognise it and go... Please help.. |

The new modules have chips with too high mbit capacity per chip. Buy older ones with more chips.
This is a cpu-related forum, no hardware forum. _________________ Frank. |

Moved to newly created Hardware/Software forum so it's no longer offtopic.
