Definitely a whole collection is listed at ebay.
imho nothing really rare there but several not so common chips.
Anyway it is a pity that someone sales a whole collection.
Is he(she) from cpu-world forum? _________________ My Want List: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22729

| I doubt it is a " collection " being sold off. |

I don't think... I guess he would have advertised the sale here if it was the case... _________________ Life is a long lesson in humility |

This collector lives near St. Louis, Mo and I sent him an Ebay message suggesting he offer his chips to members here, since finding a beginning buyer who will part with 750$ for the whole collection may be difficult.
...So do I get dibs on the Rapid-Cad and the 487sx? _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Hi,
I am the seller of this auction. I've posted on here, and sold a few things in the past, but I don't really consider myself a CPU collector. I am a vintage PC enthusiast, so all of my pieces are x86.
I normally don't sell anything for more than $200 on eBay, but I think you guys are correct in that while $700 is not entirely unreasonable for what I have, not too many people are going to drop that on an auction.
I will consider breaking this up into smaller lots, or selling individually if I can get $500 minimum. Maybe you guys can help me figure out how to sell it off? The last time I sold CPUs here, I just had everyone send me an offer for the piece they wanted, and I sold to whoever gave me the best price. Would that be an appropriate way to handle it? |
