HI
I HAVE COMPAQ PRESARIO V5000 AND WOULD UPGRADE CPU TO AMD TURION 64X2 BUT DON'T KNOW WICH ONE.
MY CPU IS SOCKET 754 3000+ 1800MHZ HYPERTRANSPORT 800MHZ PART NUMBER SMS3000BQX2LF.

Forget about AMD Turion X2 - it is not supported by your notebook (different sockets)

Only single core CPUs in SOCKET 754, so the fastest cpu is Mobile Athlon 64/4000+/2.600GHz/AMN4000BKX5BU in your case if your notebook cooling system support it.
