I've trying in vain to get some answers from AMD and HP about the Phenom II X4 830. According to AMD, it's an HP exclusive chip and they can't give me any specs.

HP replied with specs for a Phenom II X4 910 and a 920, but not the 830. Anyone knows the specs for this processor? Thanks.

6 seconds in google :

Are you sure you have 4 cores ?

I think original poster refers to desktop Phenom II X4 CPU. HP does show this part on their website (it's close to the middle of the page):

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=4191679&prodTypeId=12454&objectID=c02170974

It's the same frequency and L2 + L3 caches are the same as on Phenom II X4 820, so I have no idea if there are any differences between them. This is the first time I heard about this part.

I found another document, which says that the CPU has
8 MB L2 + L3 cache:

Hm...

Update:
Looks like it's 6 MB for L2 + L3 after all:
