I just came across this for sale on the Bay, it doesnt look like any Intel Chip I have ever seen before, and I cant dig up any records of a C1818 ever being produced. What do you guys think, is the I on the top the mark of Intersil or somthing else.
Its being sold as very rare Intel C1818 Chip heh heh heh
what do you guys think about this one.

I did come across it on ebay, and I have not bought it yet, but I do have a bid in on it. The seller has already changed the title and description to the correct info so it will be easy for you guys to find. Good luck

Ok I have talked the seller into giving it to me and ending the auction, so now i will say that for once the description is pretty accurate for this chip.
It is a rare chip for sure and i only know of two people in our community that even have one. If you go to Jmunroes site theres some info on the chip itself and what they were used in. Look in the catagory of other cpus and you will see one

I have personally never seen one before this one.
If anyone has one of these in thier collection please speak up as i am interested in knowing about how many may be floating around out there.

 Nice chip you have there. I will be happy to see this chip on your internationally recognized website and I hope soon. I am glad for you.
This is binary processor chip and it was used in HP printers and tape drives produced at second half of 70's. John (jrmunro) already showed us his chip here, on CW. http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13892
I am not sure how I deserved this, but I got one 1818-2500 from John, as gift. Thank you John! Now, this very special chip (for me) make accompany to his old friends like C1818-2643 and 1820-1692 and other HP pensioners My chip missing four pins (I don't know if this counts) but, their value for me is much much bigger than any other shiny chip I have w/o background/story. |

I have a plastic C1818 in my collection. The chip was made by AMI.
What do you think - is it a "real" C1818 or just something else which happens to have similar markings? |

Plus almost all the AMI chips I have are marked with a CXXX part number on them. It seems to be the way they numbered thier chips. Altho I have never been able to find a document to see what the part numbers are.
