I have this CPU in my gateway note book.
Athlon 64 X2 for Notebooks TK-53
The maximum temperature according to CPU world is 95°C.
I have had my laptop suddenly shut-down a few times do to temperatures getting too hot. This only happens when I try doing any heavy tasks such as watching HD videos or trying to convert my music files into a smaller files for my mp3 player. I have cleaned the fan and fins and even reapplied thermal compound and made certain my fan is functioning. Yet I have not noticed any difference with the temperature at which my CPU runs. As this is a laptop I am not certain as what my next course of action should be since I can't really add a better cooling system with out major modification to the case (also those fan pads you set your laptop doesn't help either). |

is it the original CPU for the notebook or has it been upgraded at some time? _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

could be a similar problem to what HP's dv2xxx and dv7xxx series had.
a thick *thermal* cloth turned out to be too thick ... and metal base is too small to transfer all heat that comes from the chip.
p.s. those hp models use ONE heatsink for cpu and NB/VIDEO in most die hard cases. some models though, usually with discrete video card, have additional heat sink, but still one fan... _________________ its here. |
