Yes, it is possable.
I have a Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2300 (2M Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB) installed at the moment. |

Guys, I need some decent advice -
I've got a chance to buy an Athlon 4850 real cheap, but the thing is my motherboard doesn't officialy support the 4850. My mobo is a DFI Infinity NF-II Ultra M2. It's an AM2 nForce4 board.
The latest BIOS seems to support some 65nm CPUs (like the BE-2400 which is .65 dualcore 2x512) but the 4850 isn't among them.
What do you think? Should it work properly and just display a UnknownAMD CpuID string?
The CPU is pretty cheap and supposed to be working ok, so even selling the chip later on would be an option, but then again I hate to sell untested stuff. _________________ Power without the price. |

Got it today. Updated the BIOS so it supports .65nm CPUs and booted it.
I can say now that the Atlhon 4850e works on the DFI Infinity NF UltraII-M2 with no major problems. The BIOS returns a "AMD Processor model unknown" upon booting, but everything seems to be functional. Even Cool&Quiet works with no problems.
