My motivation to collect went down recently. It became difficult to find something interesting and unique to me. I still consider myself as the active collector (I have a some small wishlist in my mind Very Happy, I search for cpus, I buy them from time to time).

You have to add a multiplier to the poll results. Some people come and go from collecting and this forum... also looking at ebay sales it is clear there are plenty of people buying.

Yes. I think collectors that will answer "yes" to your poll are only a really small part of all collectors. There are people who don't know this forum exists, people who don't speak english (or at least not enough to take part in our discussions), people who just pick chips they can get but never sale/buy/trade, collectors who think nobody else collects CPUs, and so on...

Just look what I've met visiting local "data recovery" guru at his work place (hi is the best specialist here at hdd/flash data recovery)
He has no idea about cpu-world/chipdb/ebay...

You are right. It's funny
But the mobo is the soviet XT not exact clone "Poisk" with not so uncommon KM1810BM88 Smile

BTW
I tried to estimate the subject by:
Memberlist
Select sort method: Total posts
Order: Descending

I believe the majority from top100 are active collectors here Smile

P.S. OK total posts is not the most important sometimes. Say jd has 1566 posts but who remember who is he? Smile

I collect buying stuff mostly out of this forum.

I really believe that buying hard-to-find cpus from others is ok (wallet felling extruciating pain), but looking around, talk to ppl is better.

In the last 6 months I bought just like 50 cpus, missed auctions etc.

I'd like to buy from the US, but they want PP, that I hate from deep of my bone marrow...

Everyone here has its own fix and how to get it administered.

I realized that I changed my way of thinking about collecting cpus, I started like a crazy dude but ending sitting a bit on it.
