Hi guys

Hoping for some advice on these two CPU's. I have the p4 3.4e in my main system and it runs very well for what I use it for. I also have an amd 64 3200+ sitting on my shelf, I was wondering about doing a bit of gaming (nothing new just some older FPS's) which chip would be better for this? I don't know if I should get a board for the amd or just stick with my p4. Any pro's and con's between the two?

I only have an old x800xt, but it runs the old games I like ie bf 2142 etc. Games like this, I dont want to run the newest and greatest, I have an xbox for those kind of games.

Thanks for any advice with these two CPU's

It will be approximately the same in games. So I would advise you to use your P4 system as it is ready.

Hi

Thanks very much for the advice, I take it the p4 3.4e would out perform the amd with encoding as well?

Thanks again

Not sure. The AMD might be slightly faster, especially if you are using 64bit OS and 64-bit enhanced encoding SW.
