To all Vintage Computer lovers--

Here is the preview announcement for the VCF - Midwest 5.0 to be held in Lombard, Illinois, USA (Chicago suburb) in September 2010.

http://chiclassiccomp.org/vcfmw

This will be my first attendance at a VCF and I plan to display part of my CPU and board collection and some vintage PC's.

I hope some members can plan to attend. Contact me if you think you might be coming. Very Happy

MAJOR CORRECTION>
I confess...I have been drinking beer and wine.
The correct date for the Fair is 9/18, all day and night! SORRY for the Wrong date! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Just an update...

One of the Western Hemisphere's best Vintage Computer events, Vintage Computer Festival-Midwest 5.0, happens tomorrow, 9/18 (8am to 12 midnight) near Chicago and at least 3 CPU-World members plan to travel and meet there- FDIV, Tlccomp and I.

I'll try to take some good photos of the event and especially of items that will interest our members, like CPU's, vintage boards, beer, hot girls, etc. Wink (There will be some partying after the fair closes, in the hotel rooms).

If you can sell one of your C4004's and can get to a nearby international airport quickly, you may still be able to pay your plane fare here and get to see the fair!

Here are some pics from the event:

An Altair 8800 with a custom built output device that allows it to display to a monitor.

Yes, thats right, a Commodore Amiga playing safety dance. I reckon it sounds as good on a Commodore as it does on anything.

A view overlooking one of the larger exhibition rooms.

Me and John in our little corner of the main room. Unfortunately I didn't think to take the picture until after Tlccomp had left. The day before the conference started John arrived early and staked out what I think was the best spot anywhere in the gathering. We both sold some chips and did pretty well I think.
