| Just picked up a board with a DRAG 626668-1. It is a Magnavox board from an early GPS (had an LD8087 on it). Does anyone know what the DRAG is? |

being on a GPS unit, it is most likely a processor.
so to narrow it down.. what processor comes in 48-Pin CDIP & uses a square to denote Pin 1 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Zilog Z8001....

National NS32016D... (NS16032D...)
most motos i can see use a Dot or a 1 to identify Pin 1
most NS use a Dot or solid Square _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

I think you will have to have another look at the board for a processor
cos i think the DRAG chip is a A/D convertor
the processor is probably the plastic one between the FPU & DUART
probably a Harris 8088 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Yeah there is Harris chip, but the print looks like it is worn off, and it is next to the 8087. _________________ My former Intel collection:

Mystery solved: I just got another one of these GPS boards, and the CPU is definitely a Harris CP80C86. I agree the "DRAG" thing must be some kind of DSP chip. |
