i would suspect its a mechanical or marketing sample
seems QDF has replaced qSpec
| Quote: | | QDF Number is a several digit code that is used to distinguish between engineering samples. These processors are used for qualification and early design validation. The functionality of these parts can range from mechanical only to fully functional. The NDA specification update has a processor identification information table that lists these QDF numbers and the corresponding product sample details. |
seeing it the words QDF and S-SPEC it is probably just a chip used to test the text layout on the heat-speader. So the actual chip may be a non working or not _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

sorry for the misleading , it is not printed
i think it is laser engraved
just like the text on Xeon , P4 with heatspread |

i presumed it was engraved
I'm still working on that it is a mechanical or dummy sample made prior to any working engineering samples
a generic sample / model of what any CPU that would fit that socket, otherwise i would expect a part number or QDF number to be present on the chip
EDIT >> the first reference I can find about LGA 1366 is from October 2007 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

how about this one , another 1366 with C640xxx ( one year older)
since there is some capacitor on the QDF chip ( compare no capacitor on this chip )
i think the QDF chip is working sample , not a dummy sample
what is a 1366 chip with (c)6 then?
by the way , this one is not mine yet (the seller ask a lot ) , so i will delete the picture one day later
edit : picture move to VICCA

ok, then there maybe a chance that its is working chip or at least have a die inside
put the pics in the AVICC only seen on the web thread.. so there not on show
my 5000 series 771 Xeon was made a year before they were released, so yours is not much more for 1366s chips

i suspect the 1366 QDF is possible similar to the 771 QDF
it possible belong to a discontinued / primitive intel sample
and need a strong cooling system to run it (mentioned in the article about Tejas) |
