Most of the members on this forum are probably to young to remember but 35 years ago video games consisted of only 1 or 2 games played with a console using the tv as the monitor. This is one of the chips that was programmed to play pong as well as 2 or 3 other games. At best the games were primitive. Yet this chip is responsible for a lot of nostalgia.

I bought one of these when they first came out at Sears. It was called Tele-Games Pong. I think it was on the market before the Atari version. Still have it somewhere. Many wasted hours on that game _________________ The two most common elements on Earth are oxygen and stupidity. |

the Tele-Games Pong, WAS the atari verson.
It was Atari's first big contract (150,000 units for Christmas of 1975)
Atari launched a system with their own branding the next year. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Should have clarified...What I meant, not branded or marketed by Atari. _________________ The two most common elements on Earth are oxygen and stupidity. |
