Hello, why is it that when I exchange my 2.2ghz for a 2.8 the avchd video on my computer become almost unplayable its so choppy but with the 2.2 its super smooth all other things being equal I think. the 2.8 use to rock the house now its alright apart from the avchd video. I pop in the 2.2 avchd works fine I pop in the 2.8 very choppy. what give. done it 20 times all else equal seems to me like cpu damage.

THis is happening on my laptop. I've recently exchanged my motherboard because the gpu fried. I've had the intel core 2 2.8 xpress for 8 months. its been good until now. it remained good for about 2 weeks after the mobo switch. what gives why does the avchd video run so slow on the 2.8
thanks anyone who can help

I didn't understand what's your problem.
Can you give us the cpu specs? Use "cpuz" program and then rport here the cpu's name and model.

And for the cpu you have in your hands write here what's printed on it.

Can you give rpecise spces of your laptop? Thanks.

my laptop is a sz650 sony vaio.

Intel(R) core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X7900 @ 2.8GHz

about a year ago I upgraded the ram to 4gb and also the above cpu.
the original cpu was a 2.2 t7500

recently the processor is unable to play my avchd videos smoothly, its really choppy. I never had this problem before, It happened 2 weeks after I replaced my mobo because my gpu died.

when I throw in my 2.2 everything is dandy but overall it does run slower then the 2.8
when I throw in the 2.8 everything is pretty fast but the avchd files play like never b4 very choppy.

like I said all things being equal (I think) the avchd files run like shit when I put in the 2.8.
I think the software decoding being done by the 2.8 must be out of wack due to a damaged cpu or some sort of configuration.

this is a big problem 4 me because I do alot of HD editing on premiere and its impossible now with the 2.8, its way too slow. the 2.2 works as it did when I bought the laptop 3 years ago.
any imput is much appreciated
thanks

both cpus are 4m/800

and again I have all the fastest codecs and media players. its something deeper since the 2.2 runs the videos perfect smooth and the 2.8 runs them at about 5fps.
