|

I'm still researching and planning a new gaming PC and I'm unsure as to which CPU is better: the i5 760 or the i5 680.
The 760 is quad core, with a lesser clock speed and is cheaper at about $200 Australian dollars.
The 680 is about $300 AUD and is dual core at about 3GHZ.
So which will be a better CPU, most of my research is concluding the 760 is an all round better CPU.
What do you guys think?
Honestly I'm a bit confused as to why the 760 would be better considering its cheaper and clocked less.
Anyway my budget is about $350 for CPU's so what do you guys think I should get? |

I would get the 760, why? because its better to have a chip with 4 physical cores than a chip with 2 physical but HT enabled. Unless the games are written with HT in mind, they don't take advantage of that feature and more games these days are beign written with multicore capable eg. that is physical cores.
On another note, depending on the motherboard you use the 760 on, they are easy to Overclock within Intels VID range. _________________ CPU = One of the most ingenious inventions humans have ever configured and assembled. |
