Hi,

I have an Intel 486SX that I need more info on please....

Chip markings on the top:

(white ink) intel (r)
(white ink) i486 (tm) SX (tm)

A80486SX-25
L4301938
&E5V1X SX903
INTEL(M)(c)'89'92

Then on the bottom, near the edge:

SX-33 SK903

I have not seen this before, can someone give me some more information please?

Thank you.

I didn't see remarked 80386DX-25 to DX-33 with S-Spec code SK903 and SX903. I know there was another remarked DX-25 to DX-33 with S-Spec codes SX798 and SK798:

It seems that this chip was remarked by Intel, which is probably the case with your chip too.

Thanks for your reply.

And yes, it is exactly the same format of marking as shown in your
photograph. I wonder if it was done at the same time of manufacture, or if Intel had them remarked after manufacture.

I phoned a friend who collects also and he has one. So I suspect these are not that rare, or are they?

I saw a few of these remarked Intel 80486DX-25 processors in other people collections. They are more difficult to find than, say, 80486SX-16, but they are not as expensive as SX-16.
