Hello,

I have Compaq Proliant 5000 whose support max 4 CPUs Pentium Pro. I plugged 4 units with identical stepping and windows 200 Profesional show only 2 Confused This Windows not support 4 CPUs ? If yes what Windows system you prefer for small server (internet gate and files upload) ?

Hi,
if you want a 4-way processor server you must use linux or win 200x server. Nor win 2k and win xp pro support more than 2 cpus.

Thanks for link. I think Windows 2003 will work too on this machine but I already installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Works very good Smile
