I have an old sampler that has 64 pcs. of MB8216N

Does anyone have any info on these?

I e-mailed Fujitsu and they told me that they could not locate datasheets on these, that they were a custom chip. Pretty sad, since THEY made them.

The service manual for the machine says 4116's for these, so I figure it's just a different numbering system. I would love to have some documentation, if possible.

Thanks

Wow, that was fast. I found the same info on the net somewhere, but not sure exactly where.

I believe the sampler is run by a Z80. It is an E-mu Emulator s/n 0081.
It has lots of other goodies in it. AM6072DC's, AM2812ADC's, AM9517's. I have been debating about trying to restore her, they only made about 500 of these. She is a mess though, 15+ years sitting in a road case, deteriorating foan turning to goo stuck everywhere.

The RAM IC's provide a whopping 128K of memory from what I have researched. The machines cost $9K back in 1982 and are worth only about 300 bucks now.

I can post pics later if anyone's interested.

Thanks

It's the Fujitsu version of the NEC uPD416, 16k x 1, 120 ns DRAM.
