Intel® Core™ i5-520UM Processor 3M Cache, 1.06 GHz
Intel Core Duo P8700 2.53GHz
Is the i5 alot better? And is a BGA479 socket support a BGA1288 socket? PLEASE REPLY THIS IS URGENT.

520UM and P8700 belong to different classes of processors. P8700 is a mid-power microprocessor with average performance. The 520UM has lower performance, but it requires less power than the P8700.

All BGA* processors are soldered on the board, and they cannot be replaced.

O okay. Thanks imma keep searching then. I dont like my AVERAGE cpu for it lags my hardcore gaming Razz

I suggest you go look at Intel's website - they have a comparison chart page there where you can compare all types of their CPU.
