I thought so too. But that was how I got it. And I'm sure its real. It was in a box (with other support chips And another grey trace C4004) in a drawer. The drawer was in the tech. dept of an old factory I was scrapping in. It was how i got all of my C4004s'. The rest will be coming up for sale eventually too. (I Really want to buy a house)
My buddy (Who owned the site) said he was only interested in steel, brass and copper.
There was a whole mainframe room that he gave to me. That was where my E-scrap business was born and my collection of ICs' and CPUs' Started. Actually the collection started before that when I worked for a small aerospace company. It just was really small until the scrap gig.
You should see the reel to reel motors I salvaged. The Gate arays on the left side of my collection pic and a large number of the other chips came from the same place too. It was a great day for me... I'll post some pictures of the reel to reel motors for you guys in the morning. They are going to make some awesome little wind generators. I'll try to remember to post a pic of one of the hard drives I saved. It's one of four in a drawer that weighed 70 Lbs. (There were 5 of those drawers). Its Kinda cool too. |
