Hi all,
I've received this Inmos Transputer, and I'm wondering if the "prequal" printed on it maybe means something like "You lucky bast...ard, this is a nice ultra rare Inmos PREQUALification sample ....."

It could be a pre-qualified part, that is a part that passed some tests and will operate just fine in most cases, but it didn't pass all tests yet, kind of like Motorola parts with "XC" prefix.

In the best case you can consider it a pre-production sample, but not an ES.

IIt is often used on military chips, or those chips to be used in harsh environments.

all my Inmos chips have the delta, so it might be standard marking on these kinds of chips:

http://www.cpu-collection.de/?l0=i&i=2042

does anyone know more about that?

Hi, so I can consider this 68hc11 as a sort "kind of sample"? It's strange, I've found this on a old hd logic board, isn't strange to find sample on retail products?.

Motorola XC parts are not fully qualified parts, but they are production units and not samples.
