Neon_WA,

If that will be the basis for the contest, then entrants will need to PM you their time guesses,

Was working on people PMing their guesses to me and i would add to a google doc. Then make link available after John hits 10K

Any mathematical formula to calculate it ? Yes there is but still hard to shoot exactly when it will be reached Smile

What makes it harder.. is that there is a bug with searching CPUShack posts from his profile (only first page shows)

So looking at his post count over the last few months is impossible.

So the result of winner will be almost truly random.. allowing everyone the same chance of winning the major prize

Wouldn't it be a better idea to keep all the dates hidden for everyone?
If everyone knows what they gambled, it's not random anymore, right? Razz

Btw, is there a closing date?

Dates will be hidden until end of comp.

at the moment thinking when CPUShack hits 9900 i will close comp.

but this is what the thread is for.. to sort format out so everyone understands the guidelines

Another idea might be to title this something like, "CPUShack 10K Post Contest", and have the contest the day that CPUShack reaches 10K posts. The contest could then be a random drawing, or some test of skill or knowledge or other ability.

The hard thing will going that way.. is deciding the questions as collectors specialize in different areas.
This is the good thing about the forum. if you dont know.. someone is sure to know Smile

Coming up with questions remind me of a few quiz nights I have been to.. one organised by a Sports mad individual the other a Book Club fan.. that was a fun night doodling on the answer pad Laughing

I think I will go down the luck of the draw for this competition.. so everyone basically has an equal chance.

I might a do a Brainiac quiz for another competition in the future, as questions will take a while to develop.

I do not believe I am eligible, but thats ok, it'll still be fun

Thought of that.. so going to make up a random number sheet with dates & times linked.

So will get you to pick 2 sets of numbers.. and that will be your guess

it will be like getting the machine to pick your lottery numbers Laughing
