I have a PIII 933MHz CPU.
My MS-6154VA Micro ATX VIA mainboard has the following features:
- Socket 370 for Intel Celeron and Penitum III processor
- Supports 333, 366, 400, 466, 500, 566, 600, 667, 700, 733, 800 MHz
- VIA VT82C693A + VT82C596B chipsets
- 66/100/133 MHz clocks are supported
- Supports four memory banks using two 168-pin unbuffered DIMM
- Supports a maximum memory size of 1GB
- Supports 3.3v SDRAM DIMM
- Supports ECC (1-bit Error Code Correct) Function
- One AGP slot
- AGP specification compliant
- AGP 66/133MHz 3.3v device support
- Three 32-bit Master PCI Bus slots
- Supports 3.3v/5v PCI bus interface
- Supports PCI 2.2
Recently I bought a 512MB PC133 DIMM to boost my RAM.
Now I would like to improve my CPU to at least 2.5GHz. Is this AT ALL possible without getting a new mainboard. If not, what would you suggest I do to make use of the 512MB PC133 DIMM I have just bought.
Thanks for your help. |
