Quick Q- Removing plastic/black material from a chip

Greetings! I've been so busy on other forums, dont think I've forgotten my Cpu-World community

I have a customer who brought in an MicroSD card- This customer is a company owner, who is knee-deep in shit.... The card is cracked along it's pins, and his customer needs the data urgently.

It's not quite worth the $600 to get it done professionally, so they leave it to me!

Can anybody remind me what substances are best used to remove the plastic from this chip without damaging the traces, so that I may inspect for damage and try and get the data off this card?
